So today’s news is that LitRPG finally got picked up by a gaming website!

I’ve been trying to do this for a while to bring attention to the genre, but the big name sites didn’t want us (I’m looking at you IGN and Gamespot).  Luke Chmilenko, another awesome author in the genre, scored a pretty big win by convincing MMORPG.com to pick up an article about these awesome books.  Maybe other people will start taking the genre more seriously!

If you want to check out the article, the link is here!  Also, please leave some love and feedback on the article if you have a couple minutes.  Maybe we can prove that we’re here to stay!

P.S. – Merry Christmas!

I just got into the LitRPG genre because of your book, Awaken Online, and honestly I’m surprised it hasn’t gotten a lot of recognition. I fell in love with it almost immediately and I’m glad it’s starting to get the recognition it deserves.

It’s a struggle to get the mainstream marketing and gaming websites to take the genre seriously. It’s probably because it’s new. Maybe it will change over time if people fall in love with it like I did!

The Genre definitely needs more love. Got stuck on it because of your book. Have you read the Critical Failures books by Robert Bevan? Do you think they would fall into the same category ?

I definitely read Robert’s books. In my opinion, they count as part of the same genre. He’s also a funny, nice guy.
